FuelEU Maritime Regulation – Regional regulation with global implications | Tuesday 5 November 2024 at 09.00 UTC
From 1 January 2025, cargo and passenger ships over 5,000 gross GT must comply with a cap on the allowable Greenhouse Gas (GHG) intensity of the energy they use when trading within, to, or from the EU. This is a first step, with increasingly stringent caps planned over the next 25 years, and other requirements such as the use of onshore power for certain ship types. So, what is the FuelEU Maritime Regulation? What implications does it have for shipowners, managers, and charterers? How can they best prepare for these changes?
The webinar will be hosted by Anthony Gardner, Loss Prevention Manager at Britannia P&I and will cover a range of topics including, GHG intensity reduction, a Class perspective, how the regulation will impact contracts, and the certification of alternative fuels.
Our expert panel is formed of:
• Ryan Bax, Lead Consultant – Advisory Service, Lloyds Register
• Alessio Sbraga, Partner, HFW
• Dario Formenti, Senior System Manager – Sustainable Fuels, ISCC
• Michaela Arneri, Associate Director Claims, Britannia P&I
The webinar will be of interest to all Members, shipowners, managers, charterers as well as other parties involved in EU shipping trade.
