BRAZIL: THE CONTINUING IMPACT OF THE OIL SPILL ON THE NORTHEAST COAST
Published: 24 October 2019
There is still some uncertainty about the origin of the oil which is coming ashore on the northeast coast of Brazil.
The authorities continue to investigate, with analysis of the type of oil and also detailed studies of all the ship movements in the area around the time of the spill. Members with ships in the area are advised to contact the Brazilian authorities if they encounter any oil or if the ships’ hulls become stained. Members should contact local correspondents and agents if they require any assistance.
