RECENT CLAIMS BY VERACRUZ PORT ADMINISTRATORS OVER DAMAGED FENDERS

Our correspondent, P&I Services Mexico, has advised that in recent weeks it has seen attempted claims by the Veracruz Port Administrators (ASIPONA) to claim damages to fenders (in “public berths”) with pre-existing damages and deteriorated conditions. While the claims have not materialised, Port Agents have reported that Port Administrators would be delaying the relevant vessels until security was received for the alleged damages.
