INFORMATION FUSION CENTRE (IFC) OF THE SINGAPOREAN NAVY LATEST REPORTS
Published: 3 August 2023
The Information Fusion Centre of the Singaporean Navy (IFC) has published its mid-year 2023 infographic report and security information for June 2023.
The mid – year report found there was an overall increase in the number of incidents, which included theft, contraband smuggling and robbery/piracy at sea, compared to the same period in 2022.
The IFC also noted a 29% reduction in incidents related to irregular human migration compared to the previous year. Based on the anticipated southwest monsoon, which may create favourable conditions for perpetrators, IFC anticipates that the number of incidents occurring in the Singapore Strait will continue to be high in the latter half of 2023.
