UNITED ARAB EMIRATES (UAE) UPDATED LIST OF RESTRICTED FLAG STATE VESSELS

Mutual Marine Services Al Mushtaraka Group has advised Federal Maritime Affairs in UAE has issued a circular in respect of the updated list of flag states obligated to have their vessels classified by a member of the international association of Classification Societies (IACS). The UAE Flag Maritime Administration has decided to include vessels registered under the flag state of “United Republic of Tanzania” to the existing list of restricted flag state vessels calling at UAE waters and ports, unless they are classified by a member of IACS Class or by the Emirates Classification Society – Tasneef. This update will be implemented from 1 of August 2023 for the vessels registered under the flag state of “United Republic of Tanzania”.
