INDONESIA: ANCHORAGE AREA OFF TANJUNG BERAKIT

The Singapore Shipping Association has highlighted an update from the Information Fusion Centre (IFC) stating that Indonesia has stepped up its efforts to take action against illegal anchoring in its territorial waters. This has resulted in the recent detention of ten foreign merchant ships. Members are reminded to be extra cautious when operating in Indonesian and Malaysian waters and ensure that they anchor in the designated anchorages to avoid detentions, which can be indefinite in some cases.
