TAIWAN: NOTICE OF MILITARY EXERCISES AND TRAINING ACTIVITIES

Members are advised that Xinhua News Agency of the PRC has issued a notice of military exercises and training activities including live-fire drills due to take place from 1200 (UTC +8) 4 August until 1200 (UTC +8) 7 August. See here.
The designated areas are very close to Taiwan’s major commercial ports, including Keelung, Suao, Taipei, Kaohsiung, Anping, Hoping and Hualien, and therefore the navigation and safety of shipping may be affected. Members with ships in the vicinity of these exercises during this period are advised to alert their masters accordingly and to seek clarification from their local agents as necessary.
