BRAZIL: NEW ENTRY RESTRICTIONS
Published: 3 June 2021
Following an increase in the Indian variant of COVID-19 in Brazil, including crewmembers of a vessel in the port of São Luis (Itaqui), on Friday 28 May the Brazilian health authority (ANVISA) imposed further restrictions on the entry of foreigners. Crew from India, the United Kingdom and South Africa who intend to join vessels in Brazil will only be able to enter Brazil by air after a quarantine period of 14 days in another country. Crew arriving in Brazil from other countries will continue to enter the country with a negative PCR test for COVID-19, as was already required.
