TRANSPORT CANADA TO ENFORCE MLC 2006 SEAFARER REPATRIATION PROVISIONS

Transport Canada has issued a Ship Safety Bulletin relating to enforcement of the Maritime Labour Convention provisions on duration of contract and repatriation, particularly the requirement for shipowner to repatriate crew members to ensure they are not serving longer than 11 months from the date of joining the vessel.
