INDUSTRY UPDATE FOLLOWING SECURITY INCIDENT IN THE PERSIAN GULF

A Tanker conducting STS Operations in International waters in the Persian Gulf in early January 2021 reported a limpet mine attached to the hull of the vessel, which was safely removed with no injuries or damage reported.
Industry organisations recommend companies review BMP5 and have provided guidance to vessels operating in the Arabian Gulf, Gulf of Oman, Gulf of Aden and Red Sea.
