CHANGE IN BRAZILIAN IMMIGRATION REGULATIONS FOR FOREIGN CREW

Correspondents in Brazil have advised that immigration authorities have recently modified requirements for foreign crew arriving in Brazil, by air or on board vessels. All crew are required to have a SID (Seafarer Identity Document) issued in accordance with Convention No. 185 Of The International Labor Organization or they must have an entry visa in their passports. Seaman’s books are no longer accepted.
