PHILADELPHIA: NEW DRAFT REPORTING REQUIREMENTS
Published: 2 October 2020
The Ben Franklin Bridge in the Delaware River will be undergoing maintenance for the next 4 years. Effective immediately, ships which are required to pass under the bridge in order to reach ports and terminals north of the bridge must report their arrival and departure air draft and also their deep draft to the Pilot’s Association 72 hours before the scheduled arrival at the pilot station or sailing from the port/terminal. This is to allow sufficient time to arrange for the scaffolding, hanging beneath the bridge, to be raised if required. Please see the Pilot Association notice for full details.
