KOREA QUARANTINE OFFICE STRENGTHENS COVID-19 REGULATIONS
Published: 9 October 2020
Our Correspondents in Korea, P&I Bros Ltd, have advised that, in accordance with bulletin No. 140 of the International Shipping Agencies Association of Korea dated 6th October 2020, the Korea National Quarantine Office have announced that they will conduct a PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) test of all crewmembers on board ships calling at all Korean ports, prior to berthing. In case of a positive PCR test, in order to maintain preventive measures against the COVID-19 pandemic, the vessels’ berthing, cargo operations and/or crew exchange will be delayed or not allowed.
Furthermore, all stevedores have to wear gloves and face masks whilst on board, and the ship’s Master must keep a visitor’s book on deck so that all visitors can record their names and contact details.
