The International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL) have advised that cyberthreats are constantly evolving, and cybercriminals are now attacking the computer networks and systems of individuals, businesses and global organizations at a time when cyber defences might be reduced in strength due to the shift of focus to the COVID-19 pandemic. INTERPOL have developed a Cyber Safety Checklist, as well as recommendations and prevention tips.
The Loss Prevention Department (LPD) has in technical seminars to Members been highlighting Cyber Security issues, threats and preventative measures, using The Guidelines on Cyber Security onboard Ships as one of our reference documents. The Cyber Security Workbook is also available via our website.
