NORTH ATLANTIC RIGHT WHALE – ENHANCED MEASURES

The endangered North Atlantic right whale is an iconic marine mammal. The Government of Canada have put in place comprehensive measures to help protect this species from interactions with fishing gear and vessels.
The enhanced 2020 measures will help reduce the risks during the 2020 season from April to November, and include mandatory speed limits and restrictions as well as two seasonal management areas.
The US NOAA have also issued updated guidance.
