TURKEY: ENVIRONMENTAL FINES SHARPLY INCREASED

Recent amendments to the Turkish pollution legislation has meant that fines imposed for many pollution offences have tripled. These increased fines will apply to “institutions, organisations and businesses” which will include a ship or a ship management company. Members are advised to contact local agents or correspondents for further advice.
