YEMEN: PORTS RE-OPEN
August 4, 2016
We have heard from our local agents that the Ash Shihr Oil Terminal in Yemen started operations on 2 August. An oil tanker arrived at the terminal to load a shipment of the Masila Crude. The terminal has been closed since March 2015 because of the war in Yemen. Other Yemeni ports are open and operational except the Ras Isa Marine Terminal and the Balhaf LNG terminal, which are still closed at the time of writing.
Members are advised that permission to enter the ports is still required from the Yemeni government and the Saudi-led coalition forces. These permissions should be obtained by the ship’s agents well in advance of arrival.
