SINGAPORE
On 7th September 2018 Tindall Riley (Britannia) Singapore (TR(B)S) was incorporated and assumed the responsibilities which previously fell to Pandisea Pte Ltd. These duties include looking after Members entered into Britannia in the ASEAN countries, including India and Australasia. The TR(B)S office also handles and oversees claims arising in the region and, where required, works in association with our network of local port correspondents.
Over and above these historic responsibilities, TR(B)S handles P&I and FD&D claims. The office is staffed by a team of twenty three and is headed by John O’Flaherty, who has had many years of experience in marine insurance and shipping. The claims team is led by Lye Chow Kheng (P&I) who has extensive experience in handling P&I claims previously with a shipowner and Colin Chung (FD&D), an England and Wales qualified lawyer with experience both in private practice and with P&I Clubs.
Lye and Colin are supported by Xinyi Ong (Singapore and England & Wales qualified lawyer), Georgiana Steiger and Annie Hickson (England & Wales qualified lawyer) and Irfan Nasrulhaq (Singapore qualified lawyer). The team is further supported by Capt. Nasir Subahrie, Sivakami Moorthy, Victoria McFarlane, Kellie Ng and Kasturi Valagasam, all of whom have legal, maritime and/or insurance backgrounds. Victoria, Annie, Kellie and Kasturi are responsible for the People Risks claims as well as the People Risks correspondent matters.
Capt. Ajit Karande is responsible for correspondent work and oversight of our regional correspondents.
The Loss Prevention department is headed by Jacob Damgaard and in Singapore supported by Loss Prevention Officer Capt. Charles Chong and Loss Prevention Officer Muhammad Mahadhir.
On January 25, 2019 Singapore’s insurance regulator, the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), granted Britannia a licence to underwrite business from its Singapore branch. TR(B)S is the appointed underwriting agent of the branch, and Underwriting is carried out by Francis Church and Geovenn Lim.
The administration and accounts functions are handled by Sally Yang, Serene Lim and Teo Xiao Ming. Amrita Kaur is the Human Resources Business Partner, and Mary Lobb is the Compliance Officer.
